The Nez Perce Tribe

        Have  you ever wondered about the Nez Perce tribe?The Nez Perce tribe was a Native  American Tribe In what is now North America. One can learn about the Nez Perce by looking at where they lived, how they meet their basic needs,and their beliefs and culture.

The Nez Perce Tribe lived in the Rocky Mountains,White Bird Battlefield, Clearwater River, Bear Paws Mountains, Bear Paw battlefield,Missouri River, Wallowa Valley, Snake River,Salmon River. The land where they lived was snowy,with a lot of rocky mountains.

       The Nez Perce tribe built The house that is called a teepee.  The teepees were made of sticks and ropes.They also built wigwams made of animal hide.The wigwam was also made of sticks and that house had a horse to ride. The Nez Perce ate camas bulbs, wild berries, kouse plants,mush,and cake made out of bulbs.The boys  clothing  of the Nez Perce tribe had a square hide for the back and the front of the boy's body.The girls clothing is a woven dress with a leather robe was what the girls of the tribe wore.

         The Nez Perce believed in these animals that helped their people. The Nez Perce tribe believed in spirit helpers. The Spirit helpers were spirit animals that helped the tribe hunt and do other things.The Nez Perce Tribe made myths and stories about a dragon that ate all the animals that it saw. The fox safed all the animal and killed the dragon.They hunted for their families and protected the tribe with their spears and horses.  Another Interesting thing about the Nez Perce Tribe is that they helped William Clark and Henry Spaulding.The Nez Perce Tribe also breed different kinds of horses together.

       In conclusion ,The Nez Perce Tribe is awesome and amazing to learn about.horses.The location of the tribe along with how they met their basic needs and their cultural traditions were all part of what made this tribe great.
